Roger that! I mean, Rodgers that! Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was recognized as the Associated Press 2011-12 NFL MVP on February 4, 2012. This was the first time that Rodgers has won that honor since he became the starting quarterback during the 2008-09 season.

The Green Bay Packers have made their first significant modification in their coaching staff following the departure of former offensive coordinator Joe Philbin. Philbin was recently introduced as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

The Oakland Raiders hired seven assistant coaches for head coach Dennis Allen’s staff on Thursday, and three of them were on the Raiders’ staff last season. Also, the Raiders reportedly have requested permission to talk to Green Bay Packers cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt Jr.

The Green Bay Packers didn’t have to look far to find their new offensive coordinator, promoting quarterbacks coach Tom Clements to replace Joe Philbin. Clements has coached the Packers’ quarterbacks since 2006, Mike McCarthy’s first year in Green Bay. Philbin left to become the Miami Dolphins’ head coach last month.

I understand that Aaron Rodgers is disappointed that he isn’t playing in the Super Bowl this weekend. One has to imagine he expected to be going for a repeat victory with his Green Bay Packers. I’m not a Packers fan yet I certainly thought they would make it to the big game…
